Quality Enhancement Plan 2010
Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)
Texas State University is seeking reaffirmation of accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). This process is already underway and will be finalized in 2010. While part of the process includes a report on how Texas State currently complies with core requirements and comprehensive standards, a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) will propose the enhancement of educational quality at Texas State beyond 2010. This vision plan will focus on supporting student learning and on accomplishing the mission of our university.
In 2008, the QEP Theme Development Team met to discuss the nature of the QEP and propose ideas for themes. The QEP Theme Development Team included representatives of stakeholders from, among others, the Council of Chairs, the Council of Deans, the Division Councils, the Faculty Senate, the Staff Council, the Association for Student Government, other student groups, and the City of San Marcos. The Leadership Team reviewed themes proposed by the QEP Theme Development Team before arriving at the selected topic. A QEP Task Force representing a variety of constiuent groups with direct interest to the selected theme was formed and charged with the development of the organizational and functional details of the Quality Enhancement Plan.
Faculty, staff and students interested in the development of the QEP are invited to attend one of the QEP Open Forums or to contact Drs. Wuest and Schüler, QEP Co-Chairs via SACS-QEP@txstate.edu.
